All praise is for Allah, who has placed amongst the people, those who arrive in our presence, eulogizing us and reciting elegies about us.

Expressing one’s self and feelings through poetry is a tradition that has existed for centuries. Today, many youths use various forms of poetry as a powerful tool of expressing their love for the Ahlul Bayt.

The Jaffari Tabligh Board is inviting all of you to join in and share your poetry during these days of mourning.

Guidelines

1. The theme for the submission is ’40 Days’
2. Poetry must be ‘Spoken Word’
3. The top 3 selections will have a five minute slot to share their piece in front of the community during the nights of Zaynabiya
4. A video submission must be submitted along with the lyrics of the spoken word. Please submit either a word document or pdf.
5. For the video submission, please upload your video as an ‘unlisted’ video to YouTube and share the link
6. You may work with one other person or choose to work alone. You cannot work in groups of 3 or more.
7. All work must be original, written and presented by either you/your partner or both.
